    Excellent Yoga DVD
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I love this video. The practice is precise and puts you in the moment with her detailed instruction. I do not mind the constant talking as others have mentioned, as it guides me and encourages me. It takes you out of the mindset of the practice just being physical. Am I going to be strong, more flexible? Actually with the slower pace and precise instruction, not to mention correct form, (I realize that I was doing the poses incorrect) it builds muscle because as she is explaining the poses you are holding them. You can feel Seans passion come through where it is contagious. It addresses mind/body and spirit. I will practice this for months and years to come.

    Always Awesome
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I have been doing yoga for six years, and I have to say that I love this video. I have seen others complaining about the poses being too basic, but I love the attention she pays to alignment and breath. I think that at any level, you can take your practice as deep as you want, and her flow allows and encourages that. I use her videos and always feel amazing afterwards, and can not wait for the next one…

Slow Flow with an Iyengar twist
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
This DVD was great if you want a slower flowing yoga DVD. I think this DVD is good for just about anybody familiar with yoga, and how to use yoga blocks. Seane starts off slowly with meditation, breathing exercises, and then slowly starts going into the actual postures. The postures themselves were not difficult for advanced beginner and up practioners. However, Seane goes through these postures slowly enough where you will start to feel different parts of your body open up. Seane pays a fair amount of attention to alignment (moreso than I am use to seeing in a Vinyasa Flow type DVD). She takes her time getting into and out of the postures and this where I feel anyone can benefit from this DVD.

If you are the type of person looking for a Vinyasa Flow DVD to make you move, sweat, drop a few pounds, or want very challenging postures, then this probably is not the DVD for you. I would suggest Shiva Rae’s Yoga Shakti DVD which has something for almost every skill level, except maybe the truly gifted and advanced yogis/yoginis out there (the arm balances she does are almost all intermediate to advanced). However, if you want to really focus on the alignment and feeling of some of the more basic postures, and you are looking for something slower than the average flow yoga DVD, then this is a home run.

    Less is More
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
Ms. Corn does a wonderful job in this dvd, just as she did in her first dvd. I would suggest this one disc to anyone interested in yoga. When I say less is more, I am talking about the set that she is working on. There are no distractions on the dvd to worry about breaking your concentration. It is just Ms. Corn in a black outfit on a black set, so you can concentrate on following along with the workout. Also, I appreciated the fact that she did the practice while she was talking and not doing the practice while somebody else was narrarating. I am anxiously awaiting the release of the next Seane Corn dvd.

identical practice/asana flow as in session one DVD set
    Rating:2 out of 5 stars
don’t believe the hype. the content is exactly the same as the first session except for on this one, seane does narrate through the vinyasa flow. her voice is as strident and abrasive as ever. they also have what’s called the “breath” session which really means NO NARRATION: you’re ON YOUR OWN completely. if after a few dozen times doing the vinyasa with seane you should know it by heart, but then why watch/listen (really) to the DVD music?

seane is an excellent technician and she knows alignment and breath – that is indisputable, but as far as DVDs go, i’m not impressed. i think gaiam is starting to believe its own hype.

    Amazing DVD
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
This is the second DVD I have bought by Seane Corn. She is an amazing instructor. Please keep in mind that the way she talks can be a bit intense, but always remember that once you learn the DVD you can always do the workout that is JUST music!

    definitely not my favorite
    Rating:3 out of 5 stars
To be honest, Seane Corn is not my favorite yoga instructor. To be sure, she pays close attention to detail, explaining proper alignment, which is crucial to any solid yoga practice. She is very articulate, and the combination of poses in this dvd make for an excellent daily yoga practice for harmonizing the mind, body, and soul. For these reasons, I often find myself putting in her dvd, gearing up for my daily session. However, within minutes, I again find myself turning it off and instead reaching for another dvd, perhaps Rainbeau Mars or Shiva Rea. Why? It seems to me Seane is still a very nervous person, and I feel this comes through in her teaching. While she is explaining to the student how yoga can calm the mind, she races through her words, speaking abruptly and 100 miles per hour. Just listening to her starts to send my mind into more chaos, and she tends to disturb the inner peaceful world I have been creating for myself through yoga, rather than enhance it! I rate this dvd a 3 because, on days when I can put her racing, nervous explanations to the side, I still find that she has put together a nice, long, complete and flowing daily yoga practice. -Nicole

    True Essence of Vinyasa
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
This vinyasa practice is wonderfully appropriate for beginner-advanced practitioners. Seane uses clear and precise language to convey the true essence of hatha vinyasa yoga. The postures included in the practice are beginner to intermediate, however even the most advanced practitioner can appreciate the quality of teaching and “spirit” guiding in this DVD. Most videos on the market focus soley on the physical aspect of practice, but Seane takes it a step further. After the student has mastered the verbally led practice, Seane leads us with a second practice, the silent one, where she gives us the ability to understand and feel yoga happening inside of us. This is where the practice really begins. If you are looking to advance your practice to the next emotional level, choose this one.

    Seane Corn Vinyasa Flow Yoga
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I’m relatively new to Yoga but Seane Corn’s style and pace was very good for me. She’s very knowledgeable, well-spoken, and her instruction was easy to follow.

    Compared to her first DVD
    Rating:3 out of 5 stars
I would like to try this DVD, but I’m hesitating because her first one didn’t include any queues during the practice. I’m wondering if this one includes verbal queues or is another DVD produced in silence so you have to continually look up to keep up.

Seane Corne Vinyasa II is Not the Best Way to Learn a Downdog
    Rating:3 out of 5 stars
The wordless, follow-the-leader approach (on the second, music only DVD) is better for an aerobics DVD. What is significant is that she may have unwittingly inspired a new generation of young asana leaders (as opposed to yoga instructors) in yoga studios spanning the globe, who charge big bucks to you, the student, while they get their OWN practice on, not having to do many (or any) adjustments.

Which is fine by me–a primarily home self-practitioner (not heavy on the DVD use); fine by the yoga streaming industry, and more than fine by Beth Shaw’s YogaFit, as well.

If you are a rank beginner (or go in for a gentle yoga self-practice), and are transitioning from “gym yoga” to a yoga studio, this Beginner II/Intermediate I is still a good bet. The cueing to the breath session is timed with the discernible movements in the continuous background music on the DVD. Which is what makes it difficult but not impossible to decipher. But it took me many, many hours to time the number of breaths in each pose/transition/subsequence to the starts and ends of each musical movement … many, many hours. By that time, I was bored with the DVD.

I felt flattered, though, as if I were one of her wealthy private students who met with her every week … where no words had to be spoken between us … priceless !

    good intermediate practice

I love Sean Corn’s videos, however this is not the practice for a first time yoga DVD. It’s very good after you’ve done the first DVD and feel confident enough to move forward.

good dvd BUT she talks WAY TOO MUCH
    Rating:3 out of 5 stars
I just thought that she really talks way too much….one cannot possibly be fast-forwarding each time you do the dvd. Suggestion that perhaps separate the “teaching/talking” into a separate segment. The set comes in 2 dvds, one a long form and the other the short form….even in the short form she talks way too much. I would have not bought the dvd if I knew how tedious it is to watch/follow.

    Great instruction yoga dvd
    Rating:4 out of 5 stars
In disk one, Seane Corn teaches in a simple stage alone with beautiful muted music. Some have complained she talks too much, but it’s all about the pose, getting in/out, what to watch out for, how to place all body parts (I learned new info even after 4 years & 30 yoga dvds.) Her speaking while moving (not narrating) wasn’t hurried or stressed in my opinion at all. I think with all her info it helped me to be more present & not let my mind wander to daily worries. I do like when the yoga teacher speaks since it reminds me to be aware of where my body is & what I am doing.

This DVD contained the usual sun salutations (plank, lunges, upward dog, cobra, downward dog) & triangle, side angle, warrior 1 & 2, child’s pose, twisted triangle, butterfly, seated leg stretching just like her first DVD, but also twisted side angle pose, chair/powerful pose, locust, bridge, boat, lotus, alternate standing 1 leg to knee to really stretch the hamstrings, 1 legged stand, wide legged forward bends, twisted indian pose for back, twisted sage pose, bharadvaja’s twist & lower back common stretches & ones I’ve never seen before that worked for me better then others since I’m very flexible, were great & a few I can’t remember.

In disk 2 there are 2 sessions.

There is the short form of 40 min that includes most of these poses (sun salutations, lunges, triangle, side angle, lunges, bridge, wide-legged fwd bend, twisted sage pose, etc.) where she guides you WITH TALKING (not narrating overlay) like the first one ending with a 3 min corpse pose.

The second one is an hour & 15 min, but it just music & her slow, deep, perfect breathing.

I will definitely be using this in the future to make sure I keep my posture correct which I realize my form was already sloppy by using this disc.

Seane Corn did it again. Her 2nd DVD is even better than the first. Who would of thought.

Great for advanced beginners and intermediates

This video is, as expected more challenging than the first in the series. But it is not so difficult to be out of reach for a beginner.

    Not Satisfied
    Rating:2 out of 5 stars
I was very disappointed by this DVD. I found Seane’s tone of voice and manner of speaking to be jarring and abrasive. Even though her lectures emphasize the spiritual elements of yoga, I feel that her practice is extremely focused on the physical. I found that even when I was in a flow of one breath per movement, she was still going too quickly for my taste. I felt like I had to take short, shallow breaths to keep up with her! She has a “yoga boot-camp” vibe that doesn’t appeal to me. I much prefer Shiva Rea’s Shakti DVD.

    greatly disappointed……
    Rating:2 out of 5 stars
What a disappointment this was! I consider myself intermed. level in terms of yoga, although i have been dancing for 22 years and am very active in all exercise routines. I don’t know a lot of yoga theory, but I like to do it for strength training, and flexibility and the challenge it provides physically as it relaxes me mentally. So far, i have found nothing that compares to Brian Kests’series, and Mark Blanckard trilogy and Yoga Radiance; Four Seasons of Renewal. I bought this DVD after a yoga teacher recommended it for her vinyasa yoga styl, and that Seane Corn was the big hype amongst the celebrities and such. I had high expectation that were sorely unmet. I was looking for something challenging, and refreshing and this was neither. All of her poses and transitions were entirely too basic, which she only had a few poses for the entire DVD-I kept asking myself – is that it? For example, through out the whole DVD she would only move into cobra and never graduated into up dog, her transition to down dog would always go from knees on the floor up to down dog. This is not my kinda style, especially if there is nothing to work towards for improvement. If you are a pre beginner, or have never had any flexibility, this DVD is perfect for you! otherwise, I would keep looking…Good luck!

    Excellent tips for alignment
    Rating:4 out of 5 stars
There are a few irritating things about this dvd. Seane Corn’s voice is a bit abrasive, and she races through some of the poses too fast to keep the breath in sync.

It’s worth it, though, because Corn is the only dvd-based yoga instructor I know of who actually instructs. As another review noted, I didn’t even know how sloppy my alignment was until I used this dvd. Her attention to alignment and technique is so thorough that it felt like I was doing some of the poses right for the first time.

Also, it’s nice to see a yogini who doesn’t have some crazy moonbat new age name like Rainbeau. Ugh.
