Beauty and Grace
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
The Tripsichore Yoga DVD, created by Edward Clark, both inspires awe and makes one believe that they too can learn to move with such grace and fluidity as these two practitioners. Edward’s workshop material is immensely helpful for those looking to improve their handstand and headstand techniques, and his knowledge of how to breathe properly throughout the practice and to allow the breath to move you more deeply into the asanas obviously comes from years of experience. The looping feature which allows the viewer to watch the individual Tripsichore sequences repeatedly until you have some level of mastery over them is very helpful and, in my opinion, the best way to begin to use the DVD. Edward has put together a tremendously fun and creative practice. The inclusion of both headstand and handstand options makes it accessible to multiple levels of practitioners and allows one to progress over time to new levels of skill.
Absolutely Amazing
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
A must have! If you’re looking for something that transends the usual franchise styles – look no further. Not only are the asansas presented in a new and unique way but the performances are poetic and inspiring for any one interested in the true potential of a yoga practice.
Excellent Advanced Yoga
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
This is an excellent DVD. I have been doing yoga regularly for 5 years and this DVD still provides much room for my personal growth. The DVD has “Simple”, “Basic”, and “Extended” practices which have both headstand and handstand versions. To give readers some perspective, I find the “Simple” headstand practice (the easiest practice on the DVD) to be more physically rigorous than Rodney Yee’s Advanced Yoga DVD (although I also love Rodney’s DVD). So from there it only gets even more challenging. For example, I would estimate that at least 30 full minutes of the 70 minute “Basic” headstand practice is spent in various headstand postures, with different arm and leg variations. I would STRONGLY recommend that readers not attempt such a practice until they are VERY comfortable with headstand poses and can easily perform the “Simple” practice. If not, there is serious risk of neck or other injury. Also, I find this DVD to have slightly less of a meditative or mindful emphasis than other DVDs (I prefer a mindful emphasis, although others might not). In any case, this DVD is amazing and I highly recommend it to those who really want to challenge their capabilities.
Vinyasa with a twist
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
Actually without too many twists but plenty of other great asana and vinyasa to keep the limber of mind and supple of body busy. Presented with the aim of achieving a practice driven and riding on the breath it certainly succeeds. A flowing series of asana (handstands and headstand variations, backbends, arm balances and seated postures)linked challengingly and intelligently to form sequences that show what is possible if you trust your breath. Founded on the fundamental traditions of yoga and explained with great clarity by Edward Clark (who also gives us an insight into yoga comedy with an off beat pun-ladden alternative commentry)this will educate and inspire-Great stuff

jaw dropping and hitting the floor.

Don’t miss this DVD.
I truly hate to be the naysayer …
Rating:2 out of 5 stars
I’m surprised how much I did not like this DVD. I bought it upon the recommendations of every single person in this forum. I am a pretty advanced yoga student. I did not find the poses themselves outrageous and I probably wouldn’t find the pace outrageous (though it is fast) IF I didn’t have to look at the screen the whole time! I tried both versions of the audio, and the default is the one that gives you more instruction. It’s not enough instruction given how fast it’s moving AND it’s out of sync with the screen, anyway. I guess if I want to use this DVD, I’ll have to make a project of watching it a few times so I’m familiar with what’s going on before jumping in again.
I also thought the DVD was strikingly weird. Here’s this guy in a pair of black underpants, no mat or anything, staring blankly at the screen, doing poses alongside a conservatively dressed woman who does have a mat. I assume it’s his voice in the background as a creepy, choppy voiceover. There’s no music. It’s like a manifestation of that nightmare when you go to school wearing nothing but a skimpy towel and hope nobody notices. This was not a make or break – just an observation.
Funky and Awesome
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
If you want something different than the typical yoga dvd, get this one. Unless you’re a really advanced practitioner, you probably won’t be able to do some of the things demonstrated, but it is the coolest thing to watch–gives you something to strive towards. Edward Clark gives great instruction that can be applied to less advanced workouts.
at last, advanced yoga dvd!
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I’ve been looking for REAL advanced stuff to keep challenging my yoga practice. This is the only good one I’ve found!. Cool.
Unique indeed . . . always an inspiration

Once again, I am inspired and in awe of Edward Clark and what Tripsichore does. They have hit yet another home run with the release of this DVD. Techniques that are seldom taught in yoga classes, wit to keep the difficulty of mastering these technicques fun, and grace that isn’t easily surpassed. This DVD has everything that I (and I dare say) others will need to keep their practice informed, up-to-date, challenged and growing for several years. For anyone truly serious about yoga, asana, pranayama and the advanced limbs of the yoga system, I highly recommend you check out this DVD (and better yet, see if Tripsichore is in your town, and if not, request them).
