A Great Way to Practice at Home
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I received this CD as a gift and it has definitely come in handy. I used to be able to attend yoga classes on a daily basis, but now my time is limited and getting to a class can seem impossible. I have tried various videos and books in hopes of creating a yoga workout that motivates me while also challenging me and Tranquil Space Vinyasa Yoga with Kimberly Wilson does just that.
Kimberly Wison has an incredibly soothing voice and when I listen to the CD I actually feel like I’m in her class. One of the things I like best about it is the level of intensity. Since it’s geared towards an intermediate practice it flows at an even pace, keeping you moving and energized.
I highly recommend this CD to anyone who wants to practice at home. Yoga classes are always best, but not always possible. This audio CD even has suggested combinations incase you don’t have time to do a full practice. These can come in handy when you only have a short amount of time. Kimberly’s voice and encouragement will keep you motivated and the workout will keep you challenged. Tranquil Space is a definite must for anyone wanting to continue or increase their practice.

    Tranquil Space Away From Home
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
When I lived in Washington DC, Tranquil Space was my favorite place to be. I took the wonderful flowing style of Kimberly’s teaching for granted and I assumed that all yoga classes must be like hers. Since I moved away I have had a hard time finding a yoga studio that I like anywhere near as much. Kimberly’s CD has allowed me to keep a regular practice and enjoy her teaching from afar. This CD offers a rigorous practice for someone familiar with the asanas and the vinyasa style. Thank you Kimberly!

    Excellent for traveling yogis
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
This is the perfect CD for yogis on the go with intermidiate knowledge of yoga. I take it with me wherever I travel and turn my hotel room into a yoga studio. Other yoga CDs I’ve tried were too fast or too slow or boring after one or two uses. With this CD, Kimberly has found the right pace and challenge level for intermediate yogis. The CD works well for a full practice or shorter yoga sessions. I would definitely leave home without my American Express before leaving home without my Kimberly Wilson Yoga Vinyasa CD!

Excellent Yoga Practice for Experienced Yogis
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I bought this CD and although is is a little hard to follow the first time, once you get the hang of it it is fantastic. It is really challenging but you really see improvement. I do this when I travel and can’t go to a studio. I got another ashtanga yoga CD with Cynthia Funk and it isn’t half as good as this one.

    Tea and Cookies
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I highly recommend this yoga CD. This is yoga for real people who are looking to find that Tranquil Space within. Kimberly embraces her students with warmth, acceptance and encouragement. Oh. . . I almost forgot to mention. At Tranquil Space (and on the CD), at the end of every practice, you are rewarded with Tea and Cookies. This is almost the best part (and perhaps the best endorsement).

Invaluable tool for Home or On-the-Road Yoga Practice
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
Several months ago, I received this CD as a gift and it has been a lifesaver for me as I’ve been traveling and unable to get to regular yoga classes. The CD offers a refreshing, challenging full 75-minute yoga practice, plus suggestions for shorter sequences, if you don’t have the time but still want to get your daily practice in. Overall, the sequences are well-thought out and explained eloquently. Kimberly’s voice is soothing and encouraging, and blended together with exquisite background piano and innovative techno-pop music on the standing sequences, this unique CD is sure to inspire and delight!

A Little Too Fast, Strange Music, & No chart of poses?
    Rating:3 out of 5 stars
This yoga CD is an okay workout worthy of 3 stars. However, I personally found that she moves too quickly from pose to pose. I have do yoga practices by Eion Finn (DVD), Brian Kest (CD), and Baron Baptiste (DVD) all of which are challenging workouts yet they don’t move as fast as this one. I was trying to do one breath with each pose but I couldn’t because she moved so darn fast. I would also warn others that the music used in the Sun Salutations is very stressful! It is this strange electronic sound that was very unpleasant & distracting. The other segments had music that was very nice though. Like I said, I’ve done yoga for awhile so I didn’t think I’d miss having a chart with the poses. I was wrong. It is hard to follow some of her instructions and a reference guide would have helped. I imagine this CD would be frustrating and difficult for a beginner. You might consider this buying this CD but I wouldn’t recommend it as your first choice.

    Not the best…
    Rating:3 out of 5 stars
I agree with other reviews that find the music or the pace of this CD distracting. I enjoy much of the CD, especially the hip openers, but even experienced yoga practictioners might have trouble following some of the CD without something written – even a Sanskrit list of names – to describe the poses. I found “Yoga with Ateeka”, with its excellent companion booklet, much more well-paced, and her voice and music more tranquil as well.

    Great CD
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
This is the best yoga CD I’ve heard. It’s certainly not for beginners. However, level 2 yogis and especially those who are familiar with Vinyasa (similar to Ashtanga) will enjoy the pace and Kimberly’s soft but powerful voice. The CD is excellent for practicing yoga at home because the tracks can be combined into four different practice lengths, depending on how much time you have (or energy). What’s especially helpful are the bookend tracks: It begins with centering, which really helps to clear out all the clutter from the day, and then ends with a relaxation to let it all sink in as you fade into a calm shivasana. Finally, a light chime brings you back to the real world and you’re ready to bring that peace into the rest of your day.

    choose something else
    Rating:2 out of 5 stars
Although I am sure Kimberly is a fantastic teacher in person, this CD is simply awful! I gave it two good trys and put it in the junk drawer.

I am a yoga CD junkie, so I am comparing to a fairly wide range. Rather than spending time on proper alignment or saftey, several-minute blocks are wasted on uninspired “inhale, exhale” instructions. The instructor’s patronizing “teacher voice” lacks humor and I started to wonder if she knew what she was teaching.

So, better options: Lauren Peterson’s Yogi’s companion is a great all around, and the one that I come back to with excitement. Cindi Lee and Natasha Rizopolous (sp?) are both good for straightforward, detailed instruction. Shiva Reah and Brian Kest are sometimes silly, but laughter helps with the really powerful poses. Ana Forest and Baron Baptiste give incredible core workouts in a gentle style. Am I forgeting anyone? Probably, but you get my point, there are lots of good CDs out there. Unfortunatly, this isn’t one of them.

    Pure Yoga
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
Kimberly’s Cd is very eloquently done. The music, the pace, and the quiet strength of her voice carries you through the practice. The verbal cues are precise, you know where your body is at all times. I felt myself getting lost in my practice and really experiencing the strength and grace of each asana. Kimberly left me with the feeling of wanting more. Bravo!

    invigorating!
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
This is a challenging but outstanding addition to an intermediate yogi’s collection. Kimberly Wilson has a very soothing voice that I could listen to all day long. Combined with the outstanding musical track, this CD’s a winner!

    Challenging, but I Loved It!
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I was given Kimberly Wilson’s beginner CD as a gift and really enjoyed it so a few month’s later I thought I’d try her intermediate CD. The CD is definitely quite challenging, but I enjoyed it a great deal. I knew most of the poses by name, but found the photographs helpful when I couldn’t remember what a particular pose was supposed to look like. It isn’t an easy workout, but I liked that as I think when I am practicing at home I sometimes tend to slack off and this CD kept me from doing that. It was almost like being in a real yoga class where I push myself more than I do at home. (No resting in child’s pose for 5 minutes when Kimberly is moving you onto the next pose!). I don’t recommend this CD for beginners (check out Kimberly’s beginner CD instead) but think it is a great CD for experienced yogi’s wanting a challening and upbeat practice.

Great for home and travel, love using it for short relaxation or a full workout
    Rating:4 out of 5 stars
I love the flexibility of Kimberly’s cd — it is customizable. From the one cd, you can choose a series that is just relaxation, short practice or a long, challenging series. Her tone and instruction is very calming and supportive. It is great to bring traveling (use the relaxation). A beginner friend did some of the workout with me and found it easy to follow, also. Some reviewers did not like the music, but I found it just right – it does not overwhelm or interfere with the instruction.

    Vinyasa Yoga with K. Wilson
    Rating:4 out of 5 stars
Vinyasa Yoga by Kimberly Wilson is a comprehensive yoga CD. She does a wonderful job covering the body from head to toe. I especially like the gentle warm-up before the actual sun-salutations. The standing vinyasa is a bit long. She is pretty easy to follow with good verbal directions most of the time, but there is a brief section (stomach exercises, I believe) where she rapidly says everything in Sanskrit without any other verbal cues. I would definitely say this is for the intermediate yogi. One of the stomach exercises she uses is the Lolasana (pendant pose), which can be seen on the cover of Yoga Journal’s Feb 03 issue. I would catagorize the Lolasana as an advanced asana. She has a wonderful section on hip openers (the best I have seen on any yoga video, cd etc.) The CD finishes nicely with five minutes of relaxation, which is often neglected in many yoga CD’s, video’s etc. Overall, it is a very good CD.

    This CD rocks
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I know nothing about Yoga but found this CD easy to follow and well worth the money. While it may require a deeper level of concentration than some can develop, it helped me overcome fear, find balance and taught me to use my core to stay steady. I highly recommend it.

    Confused & disappointed….
    Rating:1 out of 5 stars
After reading the glowing reviews of this CD, I bought it on Amazon & couldn’t wait to try it out. Am I missing something? No pictures, booklet or chart as with Shiva Rea or Lauren Peterson’s CD’s, which are fantastic. Though I have been doing yoga for 4 years, I found this CD very confusing. I am familiar with many of the sanskrit names for the asanas, but many times Kimberly gives no name at all or uses a vernacular I’m not familiar with. Her quick commands describing body parts & positions were frustrating and difficult to follow. I’ll give it another chance, but for someone who’s an intermediate yogi

looking for a CD to enhance their yoga practice, I recommend Rea’s Yoga Sanctuary or Peterson’s The Yogi’s Companion over this CD!

    Vigorous and Flowing

Kimberly’s CD is a powerful yet easy to follow yoga practice that is beautifully sequenced and artfully verbalized. It is the perfect companion for anyone who wants to supplement their regular yoga classes with a strong home practice.

A must for anyone away from their Yoga studio!
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
Kimberly’s voice is soothing as she leads me through the Vinyasa. The music is not overwhelming, but compliments her voice. This is a CD for the person who has been in a Yoga environment and knows the poses by name. As Kimberly gently reminds me how to get the most out of each pose, I feel stress leave and flexibility enter my body so that I am at my maximum, whether I put the CD on before or after work.
Kimberly, thank you for your CD. Keep me informed on your next CD and your first DVD. You are inspiring!

    A Lifesaver
    Rating:4 out of 5 stars
If you are an experienced yogi and have familiarity with the asanas by name, and are used to doing vinyasa-style yoga, then you will agree with me that Kimberly’s practice is a lifesaver when traveling or just when you can’t make it to the studio! I just spent two months on the road and was so happy to have Kimberly’s CD with me– while her approach is challenging, she has a nourishing spirit and it really comes through in her presentation. I was surprised to find that my technique had actually progessed when I got back to my classes, even though I was working on my own! She also offers various lengths of practice by combining the tracks on the cd, another bonus.

    Must Have For All Yogis
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
Kimberly Wilson brings yogis an amazing intermediate yoga class. Before listening to this CD I thought a home practice was something I could never achieve. Kimberly has made it easy and enjoyable to practice at home – the combination of her soothing voice, expert instruction and excellent background music – make this a must have for all yogis. I cannot recommend this CD enough.

    Not to miss!
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
This CD is a not-to-miss item for the traveling or home-bound yogi. Designed for the intermediate practitioner, it is *the* inspiration and motivation you need when you simply don’t have the energy and discipline to go through an entire practice without any guidance. The sequences are fun and challenging, the piano music in the background will keep you going without interfering with the instruction. Best of all, the CD includes suggestions for desiging practice session of lenghts by combining different tracks from it, thus providing instruction, but leaving you the freedom to work with it at your own energy-level of the day.

    Performance art? Intentionally annoying?
    Rating:1 out of 5 stars
This bizarre CD would be best categorized as performance art. Between Wilson’s off-putting tone and the jarring experimental music the result is anything but tranquil. Maybe you want to find out whether you can practice yoga with these distractions. Otherwise your money is better spent on Shiva Rea’s Yoga Sanctuary or any of Bryan Kest’s CDs.
